Default Oil Level

This may be a dumb question. I was adding some oil to my friend's 2001 accord v6. read the diagram in the manual wrong and thought the auto fluid was the oil level. So I added some more oil. Now it's a half inch over the upper mark. Will it be okay to take out for a day trip? I called the dealer and he said should be okay if it's under an inch over the upper mark. Anyone have any issues or concerns?

Should be fine. Done it before. What dealer said was pretty acurate.

As long as you're talking about the engine oil, and NOT the tranny fluid, its probably OK.

If you ever overfill the tranny fluid, fix it right away.
