Default My new DIY cold air

I got bored the other day so I went to the lumber store and got some 4" dryer duct and a 4"round to square duct adapter peice. A little cutting and riveting later, I had this. I also used a 3.5" hole saw for the front bumper. I have no cold air after my brother took his extension back I guess this is the next best thing

ricer

mine is more gangster

**side note, I DID see Intake Air Temps about 10 degrees less after installing this ducting. I made a post about it somewhere, go find it if interested. I would guess Sven's configuration would be even better since the filter is isolated from the motor with the aluminum box.

what did you use for the rubber edging on the aluminum box for the intake? I want to do the same thing, but not sure what to use.

A little fyi... a buddy of mine with an Si Civic used this ducting for a homemade intake at the track and it knocked off .1sec off of his 1/8th mile time.

Now, since you have a Type R, expect gains of at least .5 seconds

Yeah, I think it works. The edging on the stainless "heatsheild" is just vacuum line cut down the center and zip-tied to the metal. Its just there so I dont cut my fingers off I was thinking of actually making a lid for it, but my DIY time is limited . I'm running out of things to make, it might be time to actually spend some money on my car..
Opie, you gotta bring that **** over and see what we can do. I'll be nice on the estimate.. next time dont get scared and leave as soon as the big boys show up
