where to set vtec and rev limit on custom chip, lsvtec
with crower stage 2 allmotor valvetrain. were should i set the vtec crossover and rev limit, enabeling me to get the most power?
yeah fuel managment and hondata would be nice but i am not that rich. full motor specs, well heres the stuff that matters:
LS Tranny: ITR lsd
ATC clutch
B18B block: oversized CTR pistons/rings
ARP rod bolts
Cometic head gasket
B16a2 head: Crower stage 2 valve train (allmotor cams/springs/retainers ect...)
ARP head studs
Honda IM gasket
and other stuff i cant think of off the top of my head

o yeah i forgot about about fuel stuff: RC 310 injector and Walbro 255 fuel pump
and i got the basic bolt on( aem cold air, skunk2 exhaust, knock off jun 4-1 header)

your best bet would be to go to a dyno, and play with the vtec point until you make the most average horsepower, or however you like your vtec. for rev limit, im not really familiar with the crower cams, so most likely a few hundred rpm's after peak power. generally you want to land at peak torque after a shift for max acceleration, so when you figure out your torque peak, you will know where you want to shift.

experiance with a certain engine won't always help either. every engine is differant, hence, the dyno tuning is pretty much a must. especially with a hybrid engine such as a ls/vtec. sure you can just guess, or use someone else settings, but don't you want it to be at its full potential?

just from expierience those cams like vtec around 5800rpm and i would set rev limit at 9200 but like others have said those are just base #s dynoing is best
There better be damnit!! LoL, I know C-Speed Racing in Bellingham and IAS in Tacoma both are hondata tuners. Not sure how much they charge though. Intec in Kent also does dyno tuning. I'm sure of any other places, but need to find out also.
As for your custom chip that you want done, like everyone else is saying, dyno tuning is the best option. However, I'm a budget racer too (with a much less modified car than yours), and what I did for the time being was have a friend program my ECU w/a chip that basically mocked an ITR fuel map (runs slightly richer).
