Default s2k owner getting screwed?

if you don't already read the stories on doug's site, doug hayashi at http://www.nsxfiles.com has some sick cars, and his s2k just broke on the track...

what's your opinion on honda "screwing him over"?

So based on his story you're having second thoughts about purchasing an S2000 over your FWD car? Pls.

Dough Hayashi is a good guy.

not wondering, my family is full of honda's (see sig). i have never had any issue with them, any minor problem i have had, the dealership has taken care of it. thats why i'm going with the s2000 over anything else in the 30k market

i'm just wondering if i do have a major problem, will honda take care of it

it's just interesting...

alot of what doug said is relevant...
honda pushes you to really have fun with the car and drive it like it's supposed to be driven...
scca autocross days would classify as track days, which, as most manufacturers will note, would void warranty.

so why would they encourage you to do something that would cause you to void your warranty?

it's shady on honda's part...

the fact that it's out of "warranty" by 5 days, is viable, but stingy.

the fact that they wouldn't do it b/c it's been on a track... after they promote those events when they SOLD THE CARS IN DEALERS is lame...

seriously though there is a reason you sign all the disclaimers before you set foot on any course. As with any internet post theres more than one side to it I'm sure.

It sucks but cars break down when continously pushed, and the way I see some s2000's driven during these events I'm supprised it did'nt happen sooner.

anyway best of luck to him

i totally agree with your point...
but how can honda, who include the scca information with the car when sold new, tell you that since you raced your car, it's out of warranty?

that's saying:

"don't race your car, or we won't cover the warranty... by the way, here's information about getting into grassroots racing..."

how much sense does that really make?

not sure what you're reading, but it doesn't sound like rwd supremacy to me...

he's just concerned about warranty problems b/c of this story...

and honestly, i'd rather have rwd over even the ITR.

the fastest car (NA) up the togue in all of options togue battles is the Amuse S2000...

faster than even race fwd cars, or ITR's...

i'll take that...

(and i really don't want this to get into a rwd vs. fwd battle... that's pointless, especially b/c i didn't start the thread for that kinda BS)
