I am going to swap a B18c1 into my ek hatch. I am going to buy all new motor mounts but the driver's side mount which I will replace with a Place Racing mount. Would this be a good idea or should I just get the Si mount for the driver's side? Keep in mind I am going to build up my motor after the swap.

I myself don't like to half *** stuff, I like to just do it right the first time and get it over with. Some people decide that they'll only get the driver's side mount for now, then later on they'll toss in the rear and passenger side mounts, however, keep in mind how hard it will be to put those 2 mounts in! Not so much as the passenger side tranny mount but that rear mount, damn, that thing is a real PITA with the motor still in there!

My suggestion to you would be: Forget Place Racing, go with the HASports and get all 3 while you're at, trust me. I have all 3 Place Racing mounts and the poly is already starting to separate from the sides of the mount, the driver's side being the worst. I also like the design of the HAsports a lot more, the driver's side mount looks like it would prevent rocking of the motor more effectively than the Place Racing. Sorry about rambling on, but I think I covered all the bases lol.

 

I wasn't planning to buy all Place Racing mounts, just the driver's side....I want the motor to be a little more rigid while keeping down the vibration. This is the reason I want to use all oem civic si mounts except for the driver's side which will be a Place Racing mount. What do you guys think? Should I just ditch the Place Racing Mount in favor of the oem Si mount?
