I've lusted over the jdm itr cluster but held out on purchasing one mainly because of the mileage readings. Yesterday I came across this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=837111 and it appears that the odometer comes apart very easily. So I was wondering if my gsr' odometer would bolt right into the jdm cluster? Seems like a clever idea but I have not seen or heard anyone do this yet.

I dont know if I made myself clear but the purpose would be to resume documenting my mileage in "miles" not kilometers on my current motor.

Im looking to swap this peice over to the jdm cluster.

I never mentioned anything about rolling the odometer back. Simply swapping my gsr odometer to the jdm cluster. I was just wondering if anyone has done this successfully

You could do it im sure but you'd risk messing up accurate calibration, and you wouldn't be able to sell that cluster unless someone is dumb enough to buy one that's been tampered with that badly. It would be a smart thing if you kept both gsr and JDM ITR cluster and did whatever the heck you wanted to both to see how many miles you've put on your new motor or whatever.

You could swap the whole guage in there, but not just the odo. That chip that you see there is what tells the guage to read in km or mi. So if you switch just the odometer and chip, then the km guage you have will read as if it were the gsr guage. It will not be reading correctly in other words.
if you take a jdm cluster about $150-$175.
then buy a brand new itr speedo guage about $185 list.
all you have to do is switch over the needle. then you will have a itr cluster that reads mph and yellow needle. and ZERO MILES
if you don't want to do the work yourself i could sell it to you already converted $350
btw make sure to lock the needle in place before you remove it. so when you install the other one it will read acurately
shameless plug to sell some chiet.

the post hes talking about was mine. it was done using a USDM ITR cluster.
theres one prob I can think of with you switching to the JDM cluster. since its in Kilometers, your needle wont read correct. to solve this, you could buy the gauge face of a USDM ITR that read in MPH. this is if you are going to swap your GSR odometer into your JDM ITR cluster.
