Noise coming from rear of car???
Whenever I go over bumps and whatnot I hear an odd noise coming from the rear of the car like around the seatbelt area. It's hard to describe, but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. It almost sounds like the seat belt buckles are being knocked around and hitting the side of the car. BTW I drive a 97 base now not an ITR.
Yeah, sounds like the infamous shock-knock. Just a clunking noise when you hit bumps a certain way. I'm noticing it more now that it's nice & cold in the mornings. Cold seems to worsen the headliner ticking as well.
Anyway, the TSB for the shock knock is 00-090, I think. Basically involves taking the rear struts out & replacing a couple bushings with new parts. If you run a couple searches there are threads with diagrams & such that have been put up in the past.
If you call around, you might find a dealership willing to do it for free. I'm going to try & get someone to do it for me when I go in for timing belt etc.
