Default intake manifold?

i'm wanting to upgrade my intake manifold..... i have a y8 w/ my fact si intake manifold. i am kinda looking at the skunk2, but i was told i am just as well off w/ a gsr? is that right? i've been reading into it a bit and am kinda looking towards the sjunk2 over the new elebrock (sp) performer X... what would be my best choice?

The Skunk2 one is a good choice, a little pricey, but if you have the money to spend on it, go for it. A cheaper alternative would be the Y8 manifold. Supposedly the best factory D-series intake manifold. Also, the GSR manifold will not fit a D-series head.

If possible, try and get an IM from a 5 speed engine. You don't really have to do anything to the Y8 manifold. Just use the injectors that you are using now, and swap over the throttle body and the rest of the sensors.

some one said the are 3 holes that i have to plug up or something like that.. my buddy has one sitting in his room.. so if it's nothing to complicated i'd try and get it off him. i just change all of the sensors from my manny to the y8, along w/ my injectors and tb, but i use the y8 fuel rail? am i understanding that right?

Yup, that's correct. Don't forget change the intake manifold gasket, unless you already did and it's still in good condition.
