With the d16a6 non-vtec motor i hit a 15.2 with intake,MSD ignition and open headers, Now that i swapped the d16z6 Vtec I hit a 14.8 with basic bolt-ons on street tires@ Sacramento Raceway....next step low 14's high 13's(i HOPE) with drag3 turbo kit....

'89 CRX Si
JDM B16a (J1 trans0
AEM CAI
DC 4-1
Stock exhaust (read below..)

15.6 @ 94mph
.531 R/T
2.48 60ft

That was with a cat that was melted SHUT a fried distributor, messed up vacuum lines, and bald tires lol. COuldn't **** past 7k cuz of the backpressure.

Got new tires, fixed the distributor, fixed vacuum lines, exhaust is on the way(along with a straight pipe, screw the cat) 14.3 @ 100mph or bust!

Hey SpeedQuest91HB is your car a si? I have pretty much the same set up accept I only have intake, headers, vtec controller, with stock dx piping. I was thinking I'd hit 14.7 in sac because my car's so light and i've taken high 14 sec cars by more then a car. How are you activating vtec? Do you think 2 1/4 from the cat back would help me alot and when do you have vtec set at? What about your fuel settings? are you using 89-91 si ecu and distributor? email me if you can asnx6pac@aol.com thanks

I ran a 15.5 a few days ago in my 89 Civic with a ZC.

The stock tach doesn't work very well so I had to listen to the motor to figure out when to shift. I think the car can pull a low 15 second pass, though...

In my GUTTED 91 CRX Si w/B16a, Y1, Zex Flywheel, ACT XTSS, (ghetto)I/H/E I ran a 9.8 @ 72.7mph on some crap 195/60/14s.

The motor has around 130 compression in all four cylinders but it will still bark 5th . 1/8th mile, BTW.

At the local track (St. Thomas, ON) a guy ran a 12.59, all-motor, in a 2G rex. He has a B16 (I think, can't recall), header, MSD, FPR, and lots of lightening (stripped interior, lexan windows/hatch, etc):

We broke an axle and left early, so I don't even know if he ran better than that.

You mean like this:

It's a sheet of aluminum, taped with foil tape. He wants to get a one piece front end next year, and the bumper is from a WW kit, so he didn't want to drill any holes in it so he can sell it. And yes, that is a floor vent he is using for an intake.
