Heres my story :


My 92 Civic Hatch is sitting on the side of the Wal-Mart building I work in , here in Petal, MS. So last night (saturday)when I get off work, I notice my passenger side door had been keyed. My immediate reaction = !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. So today @ work I get with a manager and run the tapes from the security camera recorded during my shift. Sure enough, @ around 9:05 PM Central time, a black Nissan Pathfinder pulls into the parking lot, circles around my car and then pulls up to the passenger side of it. A stretched out arm with an object in hand runs down the side of my door. I couldnt make out who it was that did it, and I could barely make out the vehicle. So, tonight, I call my friend Eric, whos the first painter @ the local Maaco here. I tell him what happens and how pissed I am. I also tell him how I have watched the tape and how I have an appointment to meet a local detective ont he police force here to run the tape and edit so we can see further who had actually done this. Eric just as shocked as I was, I suppose got off the phone and told his wife and friends the news, ya know, just like anyone would.

10:45 PM tonight, I get a phone call on my cell , it comes up as Eric's Cell. I answer the phone and it wasnt Eric. It was his wife. She asks me to go somewhere , where I could talk, and I do so. She tells me how Eric had told her my car had been keyed. She continues to ask me not to get mad and let her finish. The basis is, she thought, I had took some money while I was over @ their house one night, simply because I was the only person their, that she really didnt know as well as the rest. So, lol, she keyed my car. How f'ing crazy is that?

So she demanding for me to let her buy new paint and let Eric paint the car. Needless to say Eric won't be happy. But I have a new paint job, and although Eric is my buddy. I cant ride around with the car scratched up. So its rather settle it here, or I don't cancel my appointment with the detective tommorow , ya know?

A wife thought with no proof thought you stole money so she keyed your car, is she 16?

Damn thats messed up, I guess at least she admitted to it. Probably only because she drives a pathfinder huh?

in all seriousness, i suggest you sit their @$$es down and have a good talk with them and say that if they ever felt like you stole **** or did them wrong just to tell you up front rather than sneek behind your back to screw with you.

You want to settle this outside of the legal system. If you have a friend in the picture leave the legal system out. It only gets too fucken messy and no friends at the end. Good luck

It's not really MAACO's paintjobs that the crappyness comes from. Its all the shortcuts and half-*** work they take. He is lucky to have a friend in the paint business under such cercumstances, I'm positive he will give you a kickass paintjob for free.

Are you getting a full paint job out of this or just the side that got keyed?

If i was you and he's just wanting to paint the side that got keyed..i would throw him some more money to go ahead and get all of it painted..post pics of the paint job as well

 

UPDATE . . . ok guys, well I talked with Eric and his wife and its all cool. I mean I saw his wife face to face today, and she was speechless. I mean what do you say to someone whos car you keyed? "Sorry" for starts, but that only goes so far. So a new paint job free of charge with new paint bought by them ( any color I want) will do for the rest!

My hatch was black . . . . but I was talking with Eric and we're thinking . . . Charcoal Grey? Type R yellow? What do you guys think?

I just have a cf hood and the rest is stock . . . .

Oh and I wish I could post the video, however its on a VHS tape and im not sure how to convert that over . . . .

nah Eric paints very well, I've seen the work , and hes painting the car and shes supplying the paint. He was even so nice as to acknowledge his wife's **** up that he told me I could pick any color I wanted and he'd match the engine bay and inside doors with that color for free.
