Default Catalytic Conv. on DX with Header

Hey guys,
The car is a 1998 DX Hatch. I replaced the stock manifold and catalytic convertor with a header, and the header bolted directly to my stock b-pipe. I have since replaced the exhaust with a magnaflow catback. Will a standard sized catalytic convertor for an EX bolt in? My magnaflow exhaust came with a piece at the front that could be removed or used, depending on the application (SOHC or DOHC I suppose). Would the catalytic convertor bolt in there? Also, I need something cheap, what brand would you recommend, and also, where would I get an extension for my 2nd o2 so that the wires are long enough to stretch to the cat? Thanks alot.

Does your catback midpipe (the part that you think might bolt up to the cat) have a 2 or 3 bolt flange?

If it's 2 bolts, it's not gunna bolt up to a cat, 3 bolts, and it *might*

How loud is your exhaust? I've got the same setup and it's too loud and a little raspy. Would a cat make it less raspy, or would a resonator do a better job?

Does anyone know of any bolt on resonators that will take the place of the magnaflow test pipe?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by CamLS &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Does anyone know of any bolt on resonators that will take the place of the magnaflow test pipe?

Thats basically what I need to know. But what size catalytic convertor, not resonator.

SO would a Cat or a Resonator quiet the exhaust more? I don't wanna go by trial and error, but I do want to lessen the noise! It's way loud

sorry for butting in but im trying to save myself from posting an extra thread on this subject.

I just bought a header for my y7 and a Hight flow cat. The Cat has the o2 sensor bung in it so i know i can use it for the 2nd o2, but im going to be doing the auto to manual conversion soon and wondering if the second o2 sensor would interfere with my shift linkage? And Can i use one of those O2 simulators to rid the use of the second O2 sensor?

If you put the O2 sensor on the proper side of the exhaust as to avoid the shift linkage then you shouldn't have any problems.
