skunk 2 coils...how do they ride?
i bought some skunk2 coilovers from ebay...i'm still waiting for them...i'm just wondering if anyone has them on, and if so how are they...if they aren'r good...what could i do to make them ride good? any feedback would be appreciated.
you need shocks... i would recommend postponing installation until you get shocks for those suckers... and the only shocks i recommend for them are Koni Yellows... of course i'm just a lil biased
but seriously... get some aftermarket shocks...

I had my Skunks in for over 2 years... Honestly.. They ride like crap.. They got bouncey and felt uncontrolable, and no it wasnt my shocks either and I have Koni yellows. I put my eibachs back on and everything feels fine now,Unless They have gotten better over the years the only thing I would do with a set of Skunk coilovers is MAYBE prop my hood open, thats about all I feel they are good for... just my .02c

it's your shock's fault. controlling the motion is the shock's job. spring wise, the difference between a good spring and a bad one is bad ones sags, lose their rates, and has inconsistant rates through out the range. skunk2 springs are pretty good. i've had mine for over 25k miles. and it is great. you can see my car in the dec. SCC.
i had skunk2 coilovers for a lil bit, ride was hella stiff. then i put in some h&r race springs and the ride got much better. definitly get some new shocks. your stock shocks will not last long.
Koni shocks (yellow) would be good enought...anything else i should get...i've got ctr sway bars and struts already...not put on though.

In some ways your right, but the spring rate on my skunks are crap causeing ride to be stiff and crappy.. Like I said I have the old SkunkWorks kit, not the Skunk2 kit maybe they changed spring rates or whatever. But the fact is the car rides a million times better on the Eibachs.
I had the skunk2 coilovers on my integra and i loved them. they use a linear rate spring which makes for a very stiff ride but better performance over a progressive spring such as the pro-kit. some will complain tht they ride like crap cause they cant handle the stiffness and/or their shocks are not up to par. personally, i like a stiff ride. if you're looking for something thats comfy, dont use them cause you'll hate them.
how the hell do you use skunks with stock springs and what is the purpose?
