Default b17 swap

It looks like I may be picking up a b17 from my friend this week. He has a built b18 hes putting into his 93 GSR. I currently have a 94 GSR and am looking to use the b17 in to a hatch or Del Sol. I am wondering what if any big problems I would have doing this. It looks to me this swap is pretty much straight forward if I use a 92-95 styles. Any help appreciated.

the swap is basiically the same as doing a b16a or b18c swap. just need the correct tranny, mounts, and electronics to make it all fit and run in the new vehicle.

Yeah I thought it was pretty straight forward. I have an extra GSR tranny (y80) and I believe that will work. Iwill need to get the correct ECU but I also believe that will basicly be a plug and play. IF anyone can correct me if I am wrong or add any information please do so.

PS- b17 wouldnt be a first choice because they are hard to come by and the less torque...but after riding in this car and feeling the power it produce I am pretty impressed. Ran a 14.8 with I/H.

b17a's are great motors, only downsides are:
-sometimes you pay a premium because they're rare
-usually they have more miles on them than jdm engine swaps or newer b series vtec engines

the tranny you need will depend on what car you're putting it into. If the b17a is going into an 88-91 civic/crx or a 90-93 integra you'll want a cable tranny. If its going in a 92+ civic, 94+ teg, or a del sol you'll want a hydro tranny (like the y80 you have).

Yeah I will not be paying much for this engine...maybe $500 for block/head and I know the engine. I have always been amazed on how little oil is burned in this car and how strong the engine run. I am looking a 92-95 hatch/Del Sol to put this in.

make sure you use the rear mount bracket off a 94+ integra if you put that B17 into a 92+ civic.
