I would like to keep my VX wheels, they weigh less then 10 lbs. and maintain a sleeper look. I was wandering if 205 tires would fit on those little 13 inchers?

 

uhhh...no, 205's wont fit on 13 inch VX wheels...widest you can go is 185, i believe.

im selling my vx wheels 100 bucks for all 4.
i painted 2 black with polished lip the other 2 are stock..
i wanted them cause they were so light and clean looking but i got some nice wheels for cheap
so 100 bux if any 1 is intersted.

 

as stated above VX rims will allow 185 width tires as max.

HX rims should allow 195 width tires as max.

215/50/13 won't even come close, yo.

 

i call bullshit.. i have a set of vx wheels.. with sumito 205/60/13 and it a damn good tire.....

Kunho even makes some agressive tires for the VX, but theyre 100 bux a pop. How good do the sumimoto ones grab? they dont look too bad, and only 44 bux.

 

I have the sumitomo's on my VX wheels for drag tires...got 2.24 and 2.26 60fts with them last fall...ran a 2.29 this weekend

 

Bauley, what size sumitomos are you running for your VXs?

cuz i just dont get how that guy above said he put 205/60/13 on VX wheels...dont VXs have a wheel width of 5.5 or something??

175/50/13. Mounting 205's on VX wheels is like driving your car with your eyes closed. Sure you CAN do it, but that doesn't make it a good idea does it?

 

why is it such a bad idea. i have vx's with 205's on them and i drive on them everyday, and have been for some time now. they work great.

Go to a regional or national level SCCA autocross and you will see people running 225/50-13 or 225/45-13 Hoosiers on CRX DX stock-sized 13x5" wheels. Sure, it is not ideal, nor is it really a good idea for street driving, but they do indeed fit. This is in stock class whgere you are not allowed to chanmge wheel size; all other classes are allowed wider wheels, so most people running the 225 Hoosiers will have them on 13x8/8.5/9" wheels.

Wider 13s are definitely more ideal; VX wheels are a pretty crappy choice when you have the option to get something wider than 5".

Told ya all... It can be done.. and it is 100% safe.....

Also those sumitomos Hook way better then falkens in my case.. and im boosted..... 244 whp. 200 torgue

 

plus imagine the weight diffference between 13 inch and 15 tires. Plus VX wheels already weigh less then 10 lbs. Seems like the smartest low budget performance wheel choice.
