Default AC Blower install on a 4th gen -- pos w/o dropping the whole unit?

So here is the deal, the helms says that I can replace the AC blower motor w/o having to remove the whole air-box doohickey thats under the dash. The instructions indicate that if I just remove 3 little screws I'll be good. Well, after spending a small fortune on odd tools to get those 3 little bolts out of tight spaces (Should have been my first clue this was a no-go) when I try and pull the blower out it hits the metal cover for the ECU in the passenger foot well.
So here is the thing, I'm going to go ahead and remove the ECU cover, and if I have to the ECU to try and slide the blower out, but I was hoping that someone who has replaced their blower could comment on this course of action, will this give me enough clearance to drop the motor, or am I just waisting time?
I'm a bit stumped here, whats happening exactly is that the blower motor has a blower attached to it's shaft I'm guessing with a c-clip, so it hits the floor/ECU cover etc before totally clearing the air chamber/control box that it was mounted to.

Best Regards,

Peter M.

P.S. Thanks in advance for any help here....

Cool, thanks satan_srv, I just didn't know if I would get enough clearance by removing the cover, or if I should just bite the bullet and remove more of the dash/air-box.... Removing the dash/air-box seemed to be a bit more involved then I had bargained for, but I didn't want to waist any more time if removing the ECU cover was not enough. Sounds like thats the way to go though, thanks! Wish I had known that before I bought a special wrench to get at that last bolt

When you remove ecu cover you can remove the blower. It's not easy, but it passes.
