anybody know why?
I was just wondering. In some cars not necessarily drag cars, but mostly track cars or circuit cars they have a fuel accumulator or collector in their fuel system. What is the reason for this? I was thinking its so that the car always has fuel at all times, but if this is the reason, how does it work and how beneficial is it?
it's so that during cornering the fuel pump has a steady feed of fuel. this problem is amplified when your tank gets near empty, and the fuel sloshes around. on the racetrack with the stock fuel system, this can actually cause your motor to cut out temporarily until the pickup can get fuel again.

It's to hold the fuel pressure up in the fuel lines even when the engine is shut off.
