Default d16 head swap

what motor comes in the civic CX hatch? i know its a D15**. and will a b-series head bolt up to a d-series head, or are my choices for head swap limited to a d-series. what would be the best head that would bolt up. if you could give me a list of choices from 1-5 and list the specs of each head (sohc, dohc, v-tec, and whatnot)

thanks, kyle

yes you are limited to dseries
almost all b/d series components are not interchangeable.

I wouldnt recommend a z6 swap onto a cx motor,
you might want to just go find a full d16z6, you could get one for a similar price once all is said and done.

What are you trying to accomplish? How much power are you trying to make? You may be better of with a b series or even a DOHC ZC. They are capable motors too.

how do people expect to bolt a DOHC's head onto a SOHC motor???? I know there's no such thing as a stupid question, but this is borderline

there's another thread in this forum going on right now, just like this one.

yes the D16z6 has vtec, and yes it's only on the intake ports.

d16z6, sohc 1.6L vtec, 125hp,

you could also throw in a jdm d15b vtec, it'd a 1.5L sohc vtec, 127hp

and yeah if you're going to turbo it,
i'd definetely recommend not doing the mini me,
it jacks up the compression, which will require lots of good tuning to get the turbo setup to run nicely and reliably.

the d16z6 comes with a nice low compression setup and alittle more displacement, slightly stronger internals... all stuff thats great for boost... well maybe not great but good
