I have a 1995 Accord EX.

I'm looking to replace the switch/sensor that lets the car know that the rear passenger door is open. When I open the door, the dome light does not illuminate, and the indicator light on the dash does not light. The dash indicator works fine during the lamp check when I move the key to the Run position.

I pulled the rubber gasket off the part, and I pulled the switch. Inside, the spring is all deformed, and it won't open the switch when the door is opened.

What is this part called, and where would I get a replacement?

I had one starting to go bad, but I was able to just use some sandpaper and remove the buildup. I had some sort of carbon/green buildup as well. Worked like a charm after that.

Otherwise, I would hit up a junkyard for this one. I tried to find it once, everyone told me the dealer. Like hell I'd get that part from a dealership, they'll charge a fortune for it.

Door jam switch. Honda sells them.
