My 90 ex accord is idleing very high @3000 rpm
yo help me please. this is my only form of transportation. i hope i dont strain the motor driving it in this condition. when i start my car it idles at 2500 rpm and as it warms up it stays at 3000 rpm.some people say its my MAP sensor then some say its EGR, and some say it my fuel system wtf is wrong.
might be a sensor. maybe you have a vacuum leak somewhere...can you hear any loud high pitched noises commin from under the hood sounding like something is just sucking air in real fast through a small hole? i would have to say its gotta be a sensor, but im not an expert on the sensors, so good luck man
I would guess that it is your IACV, intake air control valve. It just needs a little cleaning. That happened to my GSR, I am not sure that IACV is the exact name. But close. Its a sensor on the back of the intake manifold. Good luck, someone else chime in and help me out.
Check your Fast Idle control too. It's the one at the right off you eacv sensor (the one at left of your air intake with the little motor attached to it. The Fast Idle valv control the low temperature idle. You may check too tour throttle positioning sensor , it's behind your air intake at the left. This thing is control the angle of the swing valve in your throttle body. When this parts **** it look likes your choke is always on. I have recently having problem with my idle and we find that it was the little valve at the right end of the air intake. My mecano says that is not necessary and we put a gasket between this valve and the header and my trouble is away.Good luck
