So are you putting it on the gsr or itr motor?
You really only need an ignition if you're gonna rev the motor out a lot and have a lot of air/fuel flowing through it. It'll make the sparks more responsive to the higher flow of A/F.
Where you have bigger header/cams on the gsr (i assume the one thats in the crx), it'd probably help out more than a stock (again i assume) itr motor.

It only helps provide faster spark at higher rpms when a lot more fuel and air is being passed through (ie, turbo set up, or big cams + high compression).
It's one of the last things to mod on the motor (aside from tuning).
