going to my first auto-X this weekend - layout diagram inside
http://www.spokes.org/Maps/course040418.pdf
I am going to my first Auto-X this weekend. I am excited.
I will be co-driving a friend's 4-wheel-steering prelude, who happens to be the guy who designed this layout. He claims his goal was to punish FWD cars
anyway, I've never seen an Auto-X layout before, and just wanted to know how this compares.
Also, I don't know the scale of this, but isn't that a bit of a safety issue to have the parking where it is?
FWIW This is on a closed down airfield.

Hey! I hope to see you out there this Sunday! This will also be my first Spokes event, and I hope to see Blue Si #72 (Kevin) and hatch2k out there too. I'm going to be in the Silver Accord (HS #50).
As for the parking, I'm sure it'll be fine..

The closest I've come to driving a layout like that was in the Evolution school. Houston region courses are more like minature road courses...
For a comparison, this is what I'm used to for an autocross course:

Unfortunetly I can't be out there this weekend. Look for a silver S2000 #53 (I think). Her name is Renae and she has come a long way since she started autocrossing. She's really nice and may help you with some tips.
Good luck all!
Greyout, SASCA is holding an event in San Antonio on the 25th. I'm the Novice Chief for the club so I will be able to help you get better at this addictive sport. I live in Austin so you would be welcome to caravan with me and my friends.
Plus, SASCA's tracks tend to be more open.
