My car idles anywhere fron 650-750 normally. Lately I have heard it surging once a min. at idle. The idle jumps 400 to 1100 and then just goes back down to normal idle. Is this normal?
I have checked and recheck all vaccuum, so I don't think that that is the rpoblem.
What elses could it be?

 

try the IAC sensor near your throttle body. my friend's 5gen has that problem only more than once a min. sometimes the IAC needs to be cleaned so i hear. never had a problem with mine tho, but mine's newer. i can not find it, but there is a diagram someone posted of where it is. i forget which thread its in

 

fuel pressure check the injector seals are not leaing this will cuase this porblem to happen try cleaning the throttle body with a tooth brush the plate could have carbon build up and be sticking open every once in a while
