Will K20 swap take over
It already is. I remember a thread a while back of a guy who wants to drop his Type R for a K20.
My .02 on it is if you have the money, and you want to do it, who cares what others think.

i am definately considering it... since my ls vtec spun a rod bearing, i dont think i wanna put that back in. instead a K20 is in consideration.
bolt ons plus hondata = 200whp(with tunning of course) why not?

I'm curious... were did you find the motor mounts? and hell yeah i'd lose my allmighty b16 for a k20 any day

Thats pretty conservative numbers there. Which of course is the right way to think when your building. Personally Ive seen charts with way more power.
Yes K series will eventually be the swap to have...but look at all the improvements in the industry lately...who knows what will happen in two or three years.
Evolution has always been apart of Motorsports and this is just the next step.
D series build-ups and b series swaps will always be around (hopefully) theres just another option out there that is proving to be very valid.

See my avatar. Why **** with a N/A honda and waste almost 9k in swapping it into an EG ?
I can build something faster for less with a turbo and a B series. B series will always be the motor of choice to go with. I'd never do a K series. Rather have a boosted H22 EG, but that's me. =p

well then your stupid, a boost k series will walk all over your h22a boosted eg.
the tech that went into the K far surpases any motor has yet to put out, just wait. come back to this thread in 2 years and this dude will be eating his words

I voted no.. only because it isn't the most bang for teh buck swap out there. and IMO if it comes down enough in price to be worth it EG's will be more than 20 years old.
i think if the k20 was like 3 g's instead of 5 it would be the best new thing out there. I agree with those who like to get the bang for the buck, and im poor anyway. if the k20 respsonds with an intake so well how does it like boost??
since there aren't anymore B-series motors being made anymore, the K will have to eventually catch on. I'm sticking with my turbo LS until I can't find any more blocks to put holes in though...
Of course it will......the potential of these motors is crazy. In time....this is my theory.....a majority of R owners will begin to do the K-series swap and slowly civics will all have R motors
. Thats a joke of course but the c5 is popular now, just wait til the k-series come down in price and become more readily available. It will happen im telling you!

This is not true in the slightest unfortunately. Newer hondas are not in demand for **** because they arent the hottest looking things (IMO). If anything i say that theft will just stay on the rise because the motors will be more frequently ready to steal out of everyday drivers of civics and integras who dont whored them in garages as the majority of ITR do. Trust me i was one and they are burried at all times when not driven!

I believe it will. I also think a new age of Hondas will arise and dominate the FWD class harder than we already do. Hopefully this will also drop the over-inflated B series swaps, lower theft, and simutaneously help our reputation since we're the underdogs in many eyes. I guess that can be expected, we've moved away from the typical FWD I4 class, there are far more Hondas taking down RWD performance cars than any other sport compacts or whatever we are. Economy cars rule y0, kicking *** and still getting 28 MPG.
They should be cheaper than B18C5's, and maybe B16s if the law of supply and demand is actually true. The Type-R and SI were limited in production. There are going to be 100,000's of Type-S's. We just have to wait until they start getting totalled.
