GSR all motor question
Would I get good results from the following? Have a reputable company (Alaniz etc) do the headwork (including porting on intake mani. and TB etc), throw in some JDM ITR pistons + rods, ARP bolts, S2S2's or ITR/CTR cams and call it a day.
What should I run for a headgasket?
My motor is putting out bad compression in the 4th cylinder, so Im going to be rebuilding her shortly. I figured with ^^^ above, I might be able to put down a good amount of power for a daily driver.
I run 93 octane, and summer is coming. Anything else I should add to the list?

That's funny. My #4 cylinder is dying too.
Planning to do a rebuild soon and I was going to go the same route. JDM ITR pistons. I was thinking about going with the JDM B16A pistons as well since they are a lot cheaper and will raise the compression a bit more. I'm not sure if the ITR pistons are "better" than the B16 though, as in quality.

Sry to hear about cylinder 4
Ive learned to be gentle on my integra, as I only have 86k miles on her and she needs a rebuild already :/

Well I'll just throw in some info I gathered from reading other posts. I'm basically in the same situation as you: Trying to achieve an all motor, 200whp daily driver.
Right now I'm trying to decide between the JDM ITR or CTR pistons. I get mixed answers with the CTR pistons and pump gas, so I'm not sure yet. I've seen a few people make great power with 11:1-11:5ish compression, which is about what the JDM ITR's would put me at I think (on a B18C1).
As far as cams, it seems like the Skunk2 Stage 2's are best for a daily driver, but still put out great power. Stage 1's even seem pretty nice (guy running high 12's in his Integra with them) but Stage 2's, from what I hear, will still retain a good idle and create nice power.
So my current plan is:
1) JDM ITR or CTR pistons. OEM 3-layer head gasket if I go the CTR route. 2-layer head gasket if I go with ITR's (will bump it up to 11:6).
2) Skunk2 or Mugen ECU.
3) Skunk2 Intake Manifold (or AEBs if it's already out for the B18C1).
4) ITR valve train.
5) Skunk2 Stage 2 cams
6) Tuning.
I'm thinking that setup properly tuned might be able to put out some nice numbers on both the dyno and track. Maybe not 200 but close perhaps? Dunno.

I seriously doubt you will make over 199 whp with that setup unless you are milling the head and raising the cr to above 12:1 or you are running some 85mm pistons.
I have a setup that is very close to that, in fact my cr is ~11.8:1 with s2s2 cams, and headwork, hondata, along with other things and I made 187whp and 124 wtq in a b18c.

Well if your going to be putting itr pistons and going oversized.25 and using s2s2 with that head work you'll be making decent power. with proper tuning you should be well in the 200whp mark, however if you live in cali and your going to be runing ctr pistons your gonna need to blend some race or high octane gas into your car, 91 octane sucks ***, that will cause your ish to ping like a *****! But to go with a more streetable set up check this out:
Gsr motor:
P30 jdm oversized pistons 11.65 cp
stock head gasket
s2s2 cams
gsr head left stock with no porting
skunk intake manifold
skunk ecu
All on an obd1 gsr made
206 whp! using 91 octane with $0.99 cent GUNK octane booster!
its not hard nor expensive to put b16 or ctr pistons into your motor, just get oversized ones so that your car wont smoke! good luck!

With the stage 2 cams, I would run a thin headgasket (like the Spoon one) in order to maximize compression. Be sure to clay the engine prior to running it in order to ensure that there will be no valve clearance issues.
Shouldn't be any valve clearance issues.
I'm using a c5 block mated with a c1 milled head to achieve 12.1:1 cr.
I have no valve clearance issues, but I think i'm having small knocking since my p72 ecu is throwing a cel for the knock sensor (23), currently using 91 grade octane, but still knocked on 94 grade (though I think my sensor is fubar)
I'm planning on this setup for summer
s2s2 cams or even toda c (ahahhaa dream on!)
itr valve train
s2 im
hondata

I had a similair setup on one of my old motors.
Stock C5 block, DPR ported gsr head, Skunk 2 manifold, ITR cams, and I made just over 200whp.
Good Luck w/ your setup.
