i need help finding the specs on the skunk stage 2 camshafts, i have been searching for the lobes so ican "mic" the camshafts i have, i recently purchased some "skunk2 s2" but i bought it before it was reached to skunk2 so stragiht from the manufacturere so called? so i was wondering for the numbers to make sure it is legit and i will "mic" the cams i ahve and compare the numbers to s2s2's which i hope is the same i bought these for 650 and that shop is guaranteeing will be the same cuz its from the same manufacturer and they are even telling me to go ahead and mic" the cams to make sure... so to be safe before i install i want to compare - help me please all motor heads with knowledge of these cams. thanks...

 

so yours are knockoffs, ur last few sentences dont really make much sense

 

You do understand that even with a known lift and duration, that there are still infinite lobe profiles. Unless you have or create your own lobe profile chart for both cams you will not be able to compare them. The chances of you getting a lobe profile chart from Skunk2 is slim to none.

Send my an email addy and I can shot you the Skunk2 S2 spec sheet that comes with the cams when purchased from Skunk2

 

i am not even sure if they are even knockoffs, they dont have the indentions as skunk2's but the guy is guaranteeing its from the same manufacturer where skunk2 gets theirs , on the package it says stage 2 + race camshafts for both. in a yellow bag i tried asking skunk2 for even the largest lobe spec and they didnt even get back to me. ijust want to compare them so i can take them back if they are not identical.

so how would machine shops measure the cams or do they just measure the duration a@1mm?

 

if you call skunk for about a week straight and ask for a tech every time you call you might finally get one on the phone. when you get one on the phone the battle is far from over, you then have to explain what you want several times and then convince him to do it for you. very aggrivating process when you talk to a different moron every time but you can do it.

 

by the way call between 4 and 5 i think.

 

return them to the shop and buy something that you KNOW is what you're paying for
