Default Tire to rim sizing.

I am looking at buying rims that are 17X7 4-100/108 40S. My problem is finding the correct tire size. Obviously its going to be a 17" tire - but with the above information, how to I figure the width? I see the rim is 7"s but what the heck is that? 205? just let me know what your opinions are. Thanks much.

205-215 will work 225 might rub

probably 205/40-17 will be your best bet
