Default L'NATURAL Racing's DVS Drag Civic Sports New Scheme For 2004

Jeremy Lookofsky and L'Natural Racing have been very busy during the recent racing off-season. Lookofsky is being a brand new father to his new baby girl Victoria-Mae and has also been redesigning the popular L'Natural Honda Civic drag car.

Dubbed as the first full tube-chassis entry in the competitive Pro-Street "All Motor" class, Lookofsky and team has had their share of ups and downs. It wasn't until this past winter that Lookofsky decided to get back to the drawing board with some major changes.

Lookofsky is a pioneer when it comes to naturally aspirated Honda Performance and chooses the potent Honda H22 as his weapon of choice. Lookofsky and R&D Dyno built the 2.5-liter engine from the ground up. Portflow designed the racing cylinder head while Ferrea Valves and Crane Cams are working together with Lookofsky in designing a new rocker system. The Civic uses a FAST (Fuel Air Spark Technology) management system with data logging capabilities which has ultimately increased the overall horsepower number from last year.

During last season, the L'Natural Civic suffered numerous oil pump gear failures which cost the team a few events. "We have broken a total of 10 oil pumps gears all over the country which costs us more than a few races," commented Lookofsky. "The factory oil pump gear is notorious for breaking in the H22."

This was one area that needed to be addressed in the off season. The solution? Lookofsky decided to install an external oil pump system from Barnes Systems. "With the new dry sump system installed, we eliminate the factory oil pump gear allowing the engine's parasitic drag to be drastically reduced netting more horsepower." The Civic even boasts a custom made Z10 oil pan with a custom windage tray designed.

The most obvious change for 2004 is the brand new graphic scheme designed by both Lookofsky and Modern Image. Modern Image then printed and applied the new graphics paying homage to the race cars new sponsors, most notably, DVS Shoe Company.

Other changes made over the winter were reinforced motor mounts and a completely redesigned front and rear suspension which includes lighter components from Strange Suspension and Rob Moore Axles, a.k.a. Nitro Axles.

The new wheels displayed on the race car on not just for looks. They are a new prototype wheel made by Racing Hart. The CP-035 are one-piece and extremely lightweight. Depending on further testing, DAZZ Motorsports may make these wheels available sometime in 2005.

ALL MOTOR is where it goes down!!! I miss Shawn Hillier driving for you guys though...super nice guy with some superb driving skills. I wish you the best of luck on the track. Hopefully, your dry sump will eliminate that pesky gremlin!

the car looks great, if you put real head lights and real tail lights in, it would pass for a street car. what's the fastest time the car ran so far. what's the standing record for NA class. i don't have subscription to superstreet or sport compact anymore, so i'm not up to date.

The car is badass and considering you guys know what your doing it will perform great . It looks heavy, but I guess that gets thrown out the door with tube frame chassis . How much does it weigh?

if you go to a race you will see that a large % of the people there are wering Skate shoes... basically it is the exact same Demographics as the Skate market... DVS Has invested alot into the Race cars we sponsor and will continue to do so... so please go out to your local Track/Event and support those Guys...
