help mini me run right!
just did a mini me swap with a jdm d15 block and a 97 y8 head, had to convert from dual point to multi-port. everything i start it it idles somewhere around 3,000 and like 30 secs later you hear a pop sounds and it go down to where it should idle. not sure what could make this happen and was wondering if anyone could help me out. i have an HF ecu in it right now and it only revs out to 5500rpms and it only starts pulling hard around 4500 or 5000 should it pull harder before there or is that were i should expect it to start pulling hard? can any one help?
i weird the v-tec to a switch but maybe the on is off and off is on, because we had a friend help and we had to set the timing way advanced because it would hella boggy on the bottom end we sicked a tooth and then drilled out the dizzy bolt holes so we could advanced it more it runs better but seems like there should be more power but the top end thers a little bit more power but maybe not right still. i'm not sure, because i have never done anything like this or drove a single cam v-tec and dont know how it should pull.

Check all your connection to your sensors. Any thing around the intake manifold, vacuum lines and so forth. Check your ingnition components and spark plugs. Try using a different ecu. I just installed a mini-me y7,y8 into my friends eg. He's using a p28. It pulls very hard from 4500 to 7200 rpm. Now he's boosted the second day after the install. Pull hella hard with a t25. Is this in a 4th gen ef?
