Default 84 accord !!!!!!! Problems!!!!!! HELP!!!!

my daughter has an 84 honda accord ex with 109k miles. It is in perfect condition one owner ..old lady ... but the problem is It is very cold blooded in the morning. you have to let it warm up for at least ten minutes or until the temp gauge raises. Then when it is warm it will hesitate when pulling out sometimes causing it to stall. It will die at or around corners. But heres the best of all . I have put it in the shop twice . The first time they said it had vaccum leaks and the the distributer needed to be rebuilt because it was sticking. After that didn't fix the problem I brought it back and they said that the carburator needed to be rebuilt. Well after about $800.00 I still have a car that runs as bad or worse then when I took it in the shop...HELP

I don't have much knowledge of the older accords. But my best guess would be something to do with the fuel system. Now I may be way off but you said it is stalling out whenever you basically change direction. That would bring me to believe that when the gas in the tank changes something isn't getting the fuel it needs. Now that could be WAAAAAYYYY off but hell...its an idea...maybe one of the more senior members to H-T could give you a more deffinate answer

My old 85 Accord 3 door was doing a similar thing. It turned out the fuel pump would stop pumping for short periods of time, sometimes for a long time. There's a little diaphragm in there that pumps the fuel. When it gets old, it doesn't want to do the job it was meant to do.

I've heard of this being a very common problem in 2nd gen Accords.

Oh, and there was a safety recall on the fuel filler pipe on those Accords too. The pipe would rust since it was exposed in the wheelwell. If its rusted, you may also have a partially blocked fuel filter. What the hell, check the fuel filter anyway.
