Does anyone know what would cause this or has this happened to anyone?

The motor when warmed up to normal temperature and rpms low at 750, the motor begins to squeal or whistle. Its not the belts or pulleys. The car was put on a lift and it sounded like it came from where the motor mounts to the tranny. It could've been echoing though, because it also sounds like it’s coming from near the oil pan area directly under the alternator. It may possibly be a vacuum leak, yet it’s not constant. It’s on and off, sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn’t. This happens only when the car is at normal temperature, not when it’s cold.

The motor variously misfires or stutters. There is no cel for that, but there is a cel for the TPS. I just found out today it’s broken. I took the throttle body off, so it stutters when you tap the gas pedal hard. When taking off in 1st gear and low rpms in 2nd gear, it stutters. It also does it once in a while during idle, you can see the motor shake when it does it.

Any ideas? Suggestions? The fuel filter was just changed recently, and the spark plugs were re-gapped recently. The squeal was noticed after I changed my brakes and came back from a test drive.

Sounds like distributer. How is your clutch? It also sounds like throw out bearing.

the distributor checked out, it wasnt that. it makes it with the clutch depressed or not. it does it in neutral. and it makes it even when u shut the motor off when its coming to a stop. so im thinking it has to be something thats spinning most likely. like a pully or bearing or belt. something thats motor driven. a seal or something of that nature. quite possibly a vaccum leak. something that is controlled or hindered by the motor, which doesnt really narrow it down. any suggestions will be checked.. please help.

When it starts making this noise. Remove the PCV valve or screw off the oil Cap. I had this once with a Escort ( i know this isnt a escort ) but that was the problem building up too much crankcase pressure. If it works change the pcv valve.

it does it even without the valve connected. btw its a new pcv valve.

its not the wheel bearing. it does it when the car is stationary.

have you tried taking off the alternator belt and to see if that stops the noise? how about removing the other belts(a/c and ps)?

I'm not suggesting a slipping belt, but checking for seized bearing in one of these.
