Default VIR History website

I was looking for a picture of the alfa that ended up in the dan river last spring and found this website instead. Pretty cool, check it out:

Good find Mr. X15. I never realized how similar the present layout was to the original one from 1957...

SEDIV autocrossers should be familiar with Corvette driver "Fast" Phil Currin.

Fast Phil circa 1972 (the #99 vette)...

Looks like Phil finished 6th. Hurley Haywood and Peter Gregg won (in the #59 Porsche... Go figure.)
I was 4 years old.
The coolest thing is that I'm pretty sure Phil still owns that car.

Willie Shuldt was also a corvette entrant in that race. Willie was a SEDIV Solo I hillclimb regular until he passed away a couple of years ago.

Track history is so awesome. This place ( http://www.lynndalefarms.homestead.com/ ) used to be about 10 minutes from where I live now! It's now a subdivision. Too bad the track only lasted 4 years.
