Default Ghetto paint job

Previous owner, a lady , hit her wall about 3 times and put a yard of scratches on near side front bumper. So today's task in the sun is to sand, prep and paint the side of the bumper and its going well so far;

...colour match seems spot on. Werd.

yea it's not bad in the pics.
No offense man but I bet it looks like crap in real life.
I don't mean to offend you but that's why I am saying "I bet" - because most cases I've seen turn out really bad, the paint doesn't match, I on the other ahnd do not have the knowledge or the ***** to go ahead and do what you're doing, but good luck and more power to you.

Louie - I did my grille n skirts, they look like factory paint... theres actually LESS peel on my paint then factory. No shortcuts here, its a perfect fade n match.

Wet n drying the paint upto 2000 before applying laquer gets a perfect glass smoothness.

Purposely left the car dusty, theres no wind and I'm facing from about 10cm, no overspray at all, anywhere. I check these things.

Thing is I've saved my self a fair whack, most repairers wanted £70+ to blend and £150 (nearly $300 !!) for the whole bumper!

My cost, few hours work and a can of primer, paint n laquer. £16/$25

You should have painted the entire bumper.

why...he's going to blend it himself. If he cant blend then i would have painted the whole bumper...but he seems to have it under control.

true i worked for auto color match.. and you should have cleared the whole bumper cuz it will stand out unless you use blending agent but their's still a chance

good luck though .. post pics when its done

Do you have a crease where the tape was? Also what paint did you use? Any clear coat? How did you go about preping it?
