Default Got my d16z6 but i need a little help

So im doing a conversion of a crx dx auto ( gah) into a d16z6 5 speed but i cant seem to find reliable info concerning transmission use.
at first i was thinking well ill just upgrade to a hydro but thats damn expensive.
then i thought id just drop in a si cable tranny ( which id been told can be mated to the d16z6) . My problem is that i cant seem to find out if the a p28 communicates with the s20 transmission differently then l3 ( code may be wrong so i appologize) or if the ecu even speaks with it at all.Ive seen several pages talking about d16z6 swaps in california but none of those pages made any hints at transmissions.

sorry if these questions have been awnsered before i just needed some reassurance before i blew money at HAP or ebay.

any help would be appreciated.

manual transmission doesnt have anything electronic hooked up to it besides for the reverse light switch. the ECU only hooks to the automatic transmission for the lockup control solenoid.

yup theres no electronincs involved other than reverse light

all u gotta make sure is that u stay OBDO cable tranny so its easier for you...
hydro conversion involves money and is expensive

you can't use the s20 tranny. you will need to locate a 89-91 D16a6 L3 tranny for this swap. I'm doing the same thing right now, and wiring for obd1 + a p28.
