accord exhaust on prelude?
well i have dual mufflers and im losing a lot of power from it.
so with that in mind, the accord has dual exhaust and it has a cat back system for it doesn't it? so couldn't i put the accord exhaust on my car to make the exhausts actually make power instead of lose it? because i want to keep the duals and get power. tl, cl, accord, s2k all have duals
so would it fit the prelude to make power instead of just for show?

putting a dual exhaust on your lude is going to drain your hp becuase there's not enough negative pressure. Ideally, your exhaust should work as a siphon, sucking the combustion gasses out of the header, so your engine doesn't have to expend precious hp pushing it out. Similar to the way you would siphon fluids from a tank. You have to suck a little at first, but once you get it going, the siphon works under it's own power. A dual exhaust system designed for a v6 engine is going to be too large of a volume for the gasses produced by the smaller 4 cyl to create this siphon effect. I imagine that if someone where to calculate the ideal volume for an exhaust on an H22, then use that to design pipes of the correct length and width to satisfy this volume, that you might approach an 'ideal' dual exhaust, but even then, it wouldn't be gauranteed.

If you do a dual exaust you will need custom piping more than likely cause of the lengths of the car. I would recommed smaller piping so that you build back pressure. If you look at the dual exhaust on those cars, the piping is not large.

b/c they did the research , and the s2000 performs better with dual exhaust than single.

you used to be right. new 8000 rev limit and 87mm bore X 90.7 stroke. Sound familiar?

anything will perform better with duel exhaust. its just a matter of putting in the time and effort to match everything up. just like intakes and headers, you dont get peak power out of them unless you do some machine work on your head. just because something is bolt on, it doesnt mean its good for performance of the car!

"S2000 is a 2.0L"
Damn, forgot that, but not the new ones
S2200 right ? j/k
I was looking at an s2000 at the dealer the other day, and the pipe looks so big, what is the diameter of it? (I could find this answer by going to the S2000 forum, but I dont wana.)
And also, if you look at how the two mufflers split of on the V6 Hondas, its right after the rear arms, and before that it looks like its the same diameter all the way to the engine.

the car might be, but the motor is certainly in production
good enough for me.
as for the dual exhaust, LudeLooker's right, you might be able to find the muffler with the dual outlets from an american parts shop and have your exhaust mated to that.
