Beaks Kit took a sh`t on me...
Today, while I was swapping out my cat-back for stock, I noticed one of the screws that held my ITR rear sway bar to the Beaks Kit was sticking out farther than it was supposed to. I went to retighten it and to my surprise, it didn't tighten at all. So I assume that the threads are f`cked, and sure enough, after I pull out the screw, the Beaks Kit's mounting plate threads were wrapped around the screw. So I pull everything off and check the support plate and the once threaded hole is completely stripped to sh`t.
I've only had the sway bar and my car for no more than 2k miles and the Beaks Kit has already taken a sh`t on me. Also, I didn't even overtighten the screws when I installed the sway bar. Maybe the aluminum support plates are just weak. At least it did it's job on "reinforcing" my subframe for the 2k miles that it lasted. I guess having a stripped plate is better than have a torn subframe.
Just wondering, did anyone else have this happen to them? I know I'm not the only one with Beaks Kit problems.
BTW, the ITR Rear Sway Bar is for sale with Prothane Bushings and brackets for $90obo if anyone is interested. Funds will go towards a Comptech Rear Sway/Tie Bar combo.
