H22A1 into a 93 del sol S questions.... pls help
hey guys,
Before i go on with Q's, i did do tons of research as well as search on this site. It has only made me more confused.
I read tons of different opinions, some people say it's ok, some people say is excellent, some others say it's not a good swap for del sol's, etc. etc.
Now here is the deal... I have a 2nd gen integra with a B16 that i plan on trading for a del sol S. I also have a rear-ended 94 Prelude VTEC...
I was thinking about getting that del sol and the putting my H22A1 in it.
I know i will need to get an engine mount kit, different axles, etc.
I want to hear your opinions on this.
1. what is needed in order to make it reliable?
2. will i really have so many problems with breaking axles?
3. what about wiring? it's a del sol S...
4. what kind of suspension upgrades do you recommend?
Please write about your experiences with this swap, comments, suggestions, etc.
I want to make sure that everything will be ok once i swap it. I also want to do it right the first time as this is going to be my daily driver as well.
I don't care much about dragging, autoX, etc. I just want a streetable H22 del sol.
Thanks in advance.

i have never broken an axle and i dump it like at 7000 rpms with bfg's...you use the same wiring harness but some wires will have to be extended because the engine is somewhat bigger...you can just get some 94 and up integra springs to support the weght a little better. i used hcp mounts and i have not had any problems... massive power and torque
Well
Hybrids are and will not be as reliable stock motor combo
The wiring looks hard but is easy once you start doing it
And like the person before me said I have never broken an axle
Suspenison is up to you
it matters how low you want to go
If you have any questions about the swap E mail me at turbogixxer@hotmail.com
my computer is messed up and i cant reply to pms

I have a 94 del sol si with h22a4 motor/h23 trans. HCP mounts, 87-89 teg axles, arospeed coilovers with prelude front springs, slammed to the ground, 205/40/17 street- 205/50/14 track. Never broken an axle, but had some really bad binding with 90-93 teg axles at first. It will only be as reliable as you treat it. My motor is from a 98 with less than 40k, since swap I have put 5k on it, it has seen many nights at the track, 7500 rpm shifts. Still running great.
Just got the exact setup running last night. The wiring really isn't that bad. I am having a problem with the shifter cables though --- > https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=836903
