Default Engine Expertise needed please.

Hi Guys,
My friend has a JDM B16A engine with Spoon 81.25 ITR Pistons, ITR Retainers and Valve springs, B16A Valves, Stock head gasket, milled (50 thou) head, ITR Cams and a Chipped P28.

It is an incredible engine its very powerful......................

We did a compression test and it resulted as follows cylinder 1,2 and 4 265 and no 3 150

We pulled the head and found something strange,

Two cracked retainers and bent valves on that no 3.

My friend is telling me that he didn't over rev it or something.

It is running on RON 95 fuel.

Can anybody help us please?

Should we install ITR Valve now instead of B16 ones?

Is there too much compression?

Regards,

Get better retainers. they are wear items.

It is best to replace all valve spring retainers at once, they are wear items as stated above. Try replacing the bent valves with new b16 ones

He's already using ITR retainers and Springs!
Sounds like a lot was milled from the head and possible interference issues therefrom (though can't tell w/o claying the motor).
What was the redline/cutoff on the P28?

There was a reason the ITR has "lightened" intake valves (which were supposed to add 200+ rpm to the ITR motor's redline). Therefore it would seem benecifial to switch to ITR valves, as well as replacing the retainers and springs with ITR spec components. So yes, I'd think ITR valves would be a plus.

Thanks a lot for all your input.

We will clay the motor and tell you the result.
