just picked up last week
my new project... picked up for $4400... 99 cx w/ 79k on it. thought it was a good buy.
got some cheesy parts on it for right now...
also need an opinion on what to throw in there i was thinking either b20vtec or single cam turbo. let me know what you think.

you forgot the /'s in the last [IMG]'s
4400 for a CX? who cares about what miles are on the body if you're just going to swap out the motor. i think you got sux0r'd.

well there's nothing wrong with it. just small dings from normal driving. i've been looking a couple of months... and i couldn't pass this up. it's way below blue book value for private party anyways.
I don't think you got a bad deal at all. As long as your happy with the body. That's what's most important. You got a 5/6yr old honda for 4.4k. Not bad at all if you ask me. I would prolly go sohc turbo until the motor blows, then upgrade to bseries. Have fun.

apparently you know nothing about pricing, 4400 is a great deal.
and you know who cares about how many miles are on the body?
anyone whos not an idiot.

go b20vtec, unless you plan to swap in a different sohc motor prior to boost. A homemadeturbo might be fun on a cx, but its not worth the money in my opinion.

well if the body is in good condition (no matter what mileage), whats body mileage matter if you're just going to change the engine? not trying to argue with you. school me with your knowledge on "high body mileage." seems very important to you, just want to know why.
anyways, i think a mini-me and boost will be good.

Also, don't listen to the guy saying you got screwed. 4,400 for a 1999 CX isn't bad at all.
And yes, body mileage does make a difference. Think of all the bushings that go bad on higher mileage cars, all the rust that begins to form in the common honda spots, more dents could have accumulated with higher miles, seals around the body keeping water out begin to go bad, etc. High mileage body is just as bad as a high mileage motor IMO.

good starting point, not too bad a price for a 99-00 with int and body in good condition. probably could have gotten a 96-98 for much much less though
