Potenza G009's or Potenza RE950's for my EK hatch in Rainy weather???
My tires are worn out and its time to replace them. I'll be moving to Seattle soon which means lots of rain. I'm thinking of either going with the Bridgestone Potenza RE950's or the Bridgestone Potenza G009's. Has anyone tried the G009's I guess they are new on the market so they don't have ratings for this tire. I need something with good wet traction. Thanks in advance.
I don't have experience with either of them but like my Falken Ziex-Ze 512's. Great all-season tire so far w/ about 2k on them.
I work at Firestone. The 950's are FAR superior to the 009's in the wet (probably in the dry too). The G009's are turds, as they are a newer rendition of the discontinued Firestone Firehawk SH-55.
I ran 950's for a long time, now I'm on 930's(got them dirt cheap at the junkyard).
The 950's are one of the best in wet weather tires, massive grip. The G009 don't look to be pure wet tires. Also the G009 are replacing a firestone tire that were only run for a year or two in canada before being re-tired. Out of all the tires I have tried the 950's are my choice. In the wet they can not be beat.
BUy the 950's... buy the 950's...
why are you still reading BUY THEM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The G009 is replacing the Potenza RE910 (which was also awesome in the wet). The 910 was the 950's cousin with a fairly similar tread pattern and design technology. However it wasn't H speed rated, only T.

Wrong!!! the G009 replaces a firestone tire. The RE910 has a different pattern, design technology and I think is still in production.
the RE950, RE750, and So-3 are all cousins. Not the RE910's

Seeing as how I am currently the manager of tire sales, I would like to think that I know what I am talking about. But since the G009 replaces a firestone tire, would you mind telling me which that might be?
I guess I'm talking ****, this is just want a worker from a local shop told me about the G009's this year. When I was looking for a replacement for my RE950's.
