94-97 Integra need everyones 2 cents
What's up all, I had a 1997 Honda Civic EX with the 99-00 Coversion done, and a 98 JDM GSR swap, and I liked the car, and I could hang with alotta GSR's with Intake and Exhaust, now I think I'll leave the Civic alone cause everyone and there granny's has one, so this is my thing, My finaces arent looking to good right now, and I'm starting my Job pretty soon, and I was thinking about getting a LS or SE Integra since everybody says they both have the GSR interior and rims, so would anyone do the LS/VTEC or swap the motor out and get a GSR swap?
Also is it true that the LS/VTEC pushes the same amount of power as the GSR?
and Yes I've done the homework and all but I wanna know to be sure.

There are minor interior differences between the SE and the GSR, but for the most part, they're the same. One difference that comes to mind is that GSR's have the tweeters built into the door panel, whereas the SE's don't have tweeters at all. Also, I don't think 95 GSR's came with leather, but the SE's did.

The GS-R had the same interior as the LS/SE except in 2000 and 2001 when the GS-R came with leather in which case it matched the GS.
The difference was the engine, a wussy front strut bar, a DOHC VTEC badge, and the wheels (94-96 came with "Fat Fives", 97 came with "LS MESH" which were on the 98-01 GS/LS, 98-01 came with "Swirlies"). The GS-R also came stock with the GS-R fin, but personally (puts flame suit on) I think the GS-R fin is the extreme in gay. ITR fin or no fin.

ok, I understand now, but going to the motor, i heard once u slap a vtec on a non vtec motor, like the b18b, if u put a GSR head on it you'll get the same amount of horsepower as you would with a Stock VTEC block.

Buying a Non-Vtec model Integra and doing an LS/Vtec build up sounds like a good idea until you take into consideration all of the details. The LS motor with a B16 or GSR head will make some power, but you will have to spend an arm and a leg and have the motor fully rebuilt to have a reliable daily driver. LS/Vtec motors can make quite a bit of power (even more than a GSR) but for Daily-driven OEM reliability, I'd say swap in a GSR motor or leave the B18B as it is with just bolt-ons.

A ls/vtec motor will make more hp/tq than a gsr if done correctly. Slapping a vtec head on a stock ls block will give you more power than a stock ls but will not allow you to rev as high as a gsr. This is the reason people blow there frank motors. a stock ls block and a stock gsr/b16 head will get you movin but throw some $ into the bottom end and you will make considerably more hp/tq, be able to rev higher, and stay reliable doing it.
swap the B18C1.
build up the block, bolt-ons, cams, cam gears, tranny work, if your serious and have the cash.
I never suggest the ls/vtec unless you know what you are doing. Or you really want to. I always suggest the C1 route or possibly a C5 swap. But modding it either way your going to have a strong motor. If you build it 'correctly'. Meaning having all the parts work together to combine a great motor package.
meaning: why put a Toda header on your GSR if your going to have a stock exhaust. If you want power, put the right parts together and they will give you power. have them all work together as one and get the most power out of that.
If you can work the ls/vtec and have cash then try it. It can make more power. But I suggest the B18C1, safer in my mind and easier. Also, can make a ton of all motor power if built up correctly.

I'll be the first to say it... Turbo the B18B
Sell your B18C1 swap, it will pay for a decent turbo setup and you will be MUCH faster for the same initial investment

what happened to you saying you had tons of money and an explorer? you were going to get a RSX-S as a second car for the weekends.

im gonna be the 2nd to agree
ls/vtec or b18c1 is gonna cost you just as much as a turbo setup and you'll gain much more power.

all i need to do is get the motor, tranny, and ecu and Im good to go, I hear Hmotorsonline.com is the best place to go for the swap, and its like 2800 bucks and probably with shippin 3000.00 which isnt bad.

True, but its still SLOW
I'm not ******* that route, but if you are making your choice based on performance then it is not the route to take. A B18C1 with bolt ons is not much faster than a B18B with bolt ons. The main difference being the transmission gearing, putting a GSR transmission on a B18B engine and turboing it is the ideal cost effective setup to go fast. I have 240whp and 220ft/lbs daily driven on pump gas on a very conservative tune with my turbo B18B, you'll never get near that kind of power with an NA setup. Basically you can choose between having a fast and torquey turbo Integra, or having a B18C1 that puts out well under 200whp and far less torque. The choice is yours, do some research and find out what you want now and what you will most likely want in the future. Good luck

why dont you just take the gsr motor out of your civic and buy a 94 rs and drop the motor in that? then sell the rest of your civic to modd up the rs
