Do you have any experience in this situation ? If not what would you do in this situation?

Default Do you have any experience in this situation ? If not what would you do in this situation?

I bent a couple of exhaust valves on my 00 GSR w/60K on the motor Ive had it for half of those miles and was stock and clean when I got it. Ran great w/:
AEM CAI
Unorthodox Racing Pullies
4-1 ceramic coated header
Test pipe (resonated) 02 sim chip installed
Skunk2 stainless catback
Short shifter
Enkei RS7 17X7
Sumitomo HTRZII 205/45ZR17
AEM big break kit
Racing pads (the brake dust is horrible)
Goodridge stainless brake lines
Blue racing brake fluid
And some misc. asthetics

I am going to purchase a skunk2 intake manifold, replacing my radiator and fans. Also thinking about a venom controlled NOS when replacing the valves :Change camshafts? OEM valves? Springs? Retainers ? If so what brands do you recommend ? Will the stock clutch w/60,000 miles hold up to NOS ?

What would you do if you had your B18C1 pulled apart replacing some bent valves???? I really dont want to get 2 carried away it is FWD.

Any info or advice would be appreciated

I think a Skunk2 manifold would compliment the rest of your mods quite well, however I'd look into a better header. The stock clutch may need to be replaced depending heavily upon how it's been treated in the past (one that hasn't been beaten on will probably hold up to quite a bit of abuse). Personally, I think the Venom nitrous kit is rediculous. If I were to run nitrous again, I'd use the simplest system possible, with direct port injection and just spray a small shot (no more than 75).

If I may ask, what is the purpose of changing out your radiator and fans? Are you running hot? If not, then this won't do anything for you.

About your valvetrain issue. I'm personally a fan of Toda products, however their price may demand that you use a different manufacturer. Though I'm not a fan of Skunk2 products by any means, their cams and valvetrain products will work fine, however I recommend not using more than a stage 1 cam with stock compression.

If it were me, I'd go ahead and acquire some PCT pistons, and run Toda C's with a full Toda valvetrain. I'd also look into mild headwork.

Finally, I think you underestimate FWD. Just because it's front wheel drive, doesn't mean that it's not as capable as any other drivetrain setup on the market. It simply has it's strong points and it's weak points, like everything else.

I was in the same situation you are ('cept you've got much more mods than I do). Bent 4 exhaust valves on a freak 3rd-to-2nd mis-shift. The repair involved Toda A cams, Skunk2 cam gears, an ITR valvetrain, and replacing the bent valves. The valvetrain, cams, and cam gears I got for and insanely good deal, so I couldn't pass it up.

Anyway, the Skunk2 IM will be a good addition to what you've got, as Kendall mentioned. If you're trying to save some cash, I hear that the AEBS IM is exactly the same thing, and goes for much less.

If I could do it over again, and had the money to spend, I would have liked to have tried out some RS Machine cams, so I'm going to advise that you look into those. They have a valvetrain that goes with them I believe.

If you're set on either Toda A's or Skunk2 1's an ITR valvetrain will be good enough.

Your stock clutch's life is going to depend on how your car is driven. The clutch on my old GS-R snapped a spring at 63k. As for my current GS-R, my clutch caught that mis-shift of mine, and I'm dumped it numerous times since then, it's holding up okay so far (55k miles).

Actually, the AEBS manifold outflows both the Skunk2 and the ITR manifolds, but it's not yet available for a P72 head, making it "not an option" for this particular buildup.

Dengit... that's disappointing for me to hear since I was interested in picking one up.

we still won't know if the gsr single runner aebs manifold will outflow the skunk2 until its out--I was heavily debating to wait or not but I just decided to go with skunk2 because I'm on of those people who can't wait and also skunk2 is quality products and gains have been proven.

Radiator and fans ? There is a leak in the radiator and on of the fans is not working properly.
PCT pistons: What CR would you take it up for 93 octane fuel ? What valve train to match ?
Mild head work meaning Porting, polishing ?
