Default 97-01 CRV swaybar thickness?

Any honda guru's here know front and rear swaybar thicknesses? I already asked on hondasuv.com...

Apparently, the type-r bar can be used as an upgrade. I would think CRV's would be bigger based on weight and size!

Type-r thickness would be good to know too!

Thanks!

the thickness of the rear sway bar is 16 or 17 mm i believe.

I know that it is only 1 or 1 mm thinner than that of the GS-R.

The Cr-V sway bar is upgradable to the GS-R with no serious modification needed. If you use the Type R sway bar (which is much thicker) then you will need custom brackets to hold it in place.

And if i was told correctly, the front sway bar is the same as that as a civic type r. <--- not 100% on that one....but was told from a pretty good source.

Hope that helps.

you can get polyuretheyne mounts made for a new sway bar for pretty cheap. there should be a section in your yellow pages for poly products. call a few places, someone is generally willing to do a 1-off job, esp something small like sway bar brackets.

(you might go to poly either way. they are quieter, and stronger)

DooD - Thanks! Type-R is the way to go - the 22mm is huge. According to hondautomotiveparts.org , CRV is the same as an 99-00 Civic SI swaybar at a puny 13mm. The type-r will be like whoa

I need to just find a used type-r bar and go from there, ya know? Someone on hondasuv says the type-r can be bolted on with no modifications. I am afraid it will rip out, though.

I wonder if Beaks or BSQ can help come up with a mount kit.
