Default LAUNCHING ON SLICKS?

I JUST GOT A SET OF ET 24.5X7X13 ON SOME LENSOS. JUST WONDERING WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD RPM TO LAUNCH FROM AND WHAT PSI SHOULD THEY BE AT. NOW PLEASE KEEP IN MIND I AM ON STOCK AXLES AND WOULD RATHER START CONSERVATIVE AND THEN WORK UP FROM THERE. THANKS FOR THE INFO.

y would u even purchase slicks with the intent of taking it easy??? total waste of time and money. to ppl that ask questions like these a word of advice. if u cannot fix ur car after u break it, do not buy slicks. its just a matter of time b4 the grim parts destroyer yields his head.

How much power are you making? Just remember it's better to launch too high and spin than too low, grip and snap axles... The launch rpm is dependant upon power, etc. but pressure wise I would start with 10psi then work your way down to around 7psi. Good Luck

well I got the slicks because I need traction... I know that stuff will break but the point is not to go out there and break the car so if I can go out there and do something a little difterent so I am not always breaking axles I figured I would ask to make the car a little more reliable then always have to be fixed. I am new to this honda thing on my neon I launch at 6300 on 22x8x13 at 9 psi but the neon has more torque then my honda. I am guessing I have about 220 -230 whp. I am running a sohc vtec on 17 pounds of boost ( yes the motor is built to stand it but not dynoed so this is just my guess.

start off launching high, then work your way down if you continue to get way too much wheel spin.. Axels break from the sudden jolt and not wheel spin... a little wheel spin is a good thing... Pre-load your clutch and go like hell... I do agree with 1 2 NV though... don't buy slicks if your worried about breaking axels... but on a second note, I'd rather have my axel break that the tranny

start off at 13psi and work your way down. if you think you need more traction, lower it another psi.

I was able to get 1.76 60fts on my old CRX with an SOHC. it was probably only pushing 130hp at the time. that was on 13psi on the M&H 22x8x13 on Lensos.

I have been on stock axles and diff for the last 100 runs or so....I always lauch at 6000-6500...Start by pre-loading the drivetrain so your clutch pedal is about 1/2 way out and slip it real fast the rest of the way...This has got me in the 1.74-1.80 range...Oh, btw power level is approx 300 whp and I usually have 8-10 psi in the slicks...

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

well i went on friday and there were about 100 cars racing (forgot about bugorama)
first run i had the slicks at 13 psi and launched at 4200,after my 2nd stage light came on the just started coming down and i dont have the 2 step hooked up, the car went 13.06 at 103, 2nd time had the slicks at 10 psi and launched at 5400 nd went 13.4 at 103 but missed a shift. so i did anther run and went 13.3 at 102. so the last run i put the slick back up to 11.5 psi and launch at 5300 and went 13.18 at 104. i dont understand why i was runnin faster with more psi in the slicks? all 4 of my 60' were 1.95 - 1.83?? anybody got an idea?

More psi = smaller contact patch size = less rolling resistance. There's a point where you don't want to go too low, otherwise you won't be as fast at the end of the track.
