Well, I don't know why, but every SINGLE time I get out of my LS, I get an Electric shock when closing the door. Just by touching it will sparks. I'm scare that it can cost harm when pumping gas.
Hope someone can help me out. Thanks

I thought that I was the only one who had this problem also. a great trick that I picked up was when opening the door, keep a finger on the screw in the door panel when you get out.

i thought it was only me. every time i get out ZAP! i think its my cloth seats. the funny thing is, is that when i have passengers, they never get it. sometime its bad, others its mild!
bump this **** for a solution!

i always touch my key to the ignition before i get out. this usually seems to do the trick.

2 things i do.
1. close the door using window.
or
2. open door, without moving your body yet, grab the door where some metal is, while holding onto the door, get out and close the door.

happens to me every day.. im always skepitcal about opening the door at work cause its all metal and it shocks the hell out of me, so if no ones looking i use my long sleeve, and pull it iver my hand to open the door hahaha
lol - I'll keep this in mind next time a guy in a honda delivers my computer parts
Yea, it happens with the cloth seats sometimes - Ground yourself on a peice of metal before you get out (its almost impossible to remember to do...)

you guys are some worrier's lol!
to explain: some people are just more positivly charged or negativly charged than others. like i bet you get static shocks from all over the place. anyways, all it is, is a static charge build up from riding in your car and rubbing your clothes on the seats. if you are worried about it alot, touch the car after you get out. this will ground you out and allow all charge to disipate. its really not enough spark to really cause any damage or really set fire to anything except some really contained and pressurized gasses. if you dont like being shocked by the static, um, well, try using some dryer sheets that de-static-fy your clothes when you do your laundry. also try rubbing those dryer sheets on your interior.
big word of advice: dont touch your ecu if you carry big static charges. and ALWAYS ground yourself out when handling an ecu or any solid state electrical circuit for that matter. any slight charge could fry something on that board, not likely, but possible.
