Just wondering if anyone has actually changed over the rear disc setup from a 90-93 Integra or 89-91 CRX to a drum trailing arm on the ED"s. I've got everything to change over(from a 93 Integra) but I'd like to just leave my rear trailing arms on and switch over all the componenets due to the trailing arm bushing still being in excellent shape. This site http://home.wideopenwest.com/%7Etschmidt/index.htm seems to lean towards it working but I'd just like to know if anyone has actually done this.
i have not done it but after having disassembled and reassembled both sets of trailing arms that i had i realized after the fat that there would have been alot less heavy lifting and swearing involved had i done it that way.
I have done it this way twice. Once on an EK, and the 2nd time on my current ED. However, I was not able to do it without removing the trailing arm. The problem is the 4 Torx bolts that hold the hub to the arm. They are most likely (I'll put money on it) seized.
As a result of them being seized, you will most definitely strip the heads. I ended up removing the arm, taking all the drum brake parts off, and taking my grinder with thin cutting disc, and cutting the drum brake hubs off the trailing arm. Lucky for me, the disc brake hubs were already off the trailing arms (thats how I bought them).
If you decide to go ahead with this, the Torx is a size "50".

Jaker-you da man!! thanks so much for the reply. Did you use an impact screwdriver for the torx like you would use on the 4 bolts holding the disc on?
Hate to bring this back up, but..
what rear u have to change out hubs?? cuz my gsr wheel bearings are gone and I have civic drum TA's at home can I swap over the disc stuff to the civic arms and use teh civic bearing or do I have to break down and get GSR bearings...?

I just used some PB blaster and let it sit a few days, then used an impact wrench and the Torx size 50. Use a lot of force to hold the inpact to the bolt
and they'll pop right out.
