i have a 99 ex coupe and it has one, but I have ran the 96 cx to real low and the light has not come on. Just wondering if they have one.
by the way I am a honda-tech noobie.

The 96 dx does but it doesnt come on until you are like almost below the e.

I think the cx and dx are mechanically identical only options like mirrors rear wipers, spoilers, cargo covers, and radios were the difference

 

sound deadening if im not mistaken was conveniently left off the CX

 

As far as I know the CX model didn't have the Low Fuel indicator. It is actually *IN* the cluster, but I think the wiring is missing.

Anyone else know for sure?

 

Good question. Was wondering if my 97 Dx hatch had one.

 

What engine is in the CX models. I know my 00 HX has a fuel light but I can be WELL past E and it wont come on. Ill be driving and nothing....then if I am idling and it is still that llow..it will come on. I DID get it to come on once when I was driving but I must have been running on fumes because the fuel gauge was well over E. It is funky like that.

 

ive had both cx and dx model ek's. my cx did not have it, but my dx does. it comes in handy.

 

The CX (Civic 1996 - 2000) Came with the D16Y7 SOHC Non-VTEC motor.

The DX 96-00 came with the same motor. I have a 99 DX and I have the low fuel light.

 

I believe this was implemented in all EK civics, not 100% posative. The Honda low fuel light doesn't come on until you are by E but you will still have 2-3 gallons of usable fuel before you die...

 

I HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN COMPLETELY BELOW THE "E" AND THE LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON. MY OLD CLUSTER AND MY NEW CLUSTER BOTH HAD THE LIGHTS IN THEM, BUT NEITHER ONE HAS COME ON. ANYONE KNOW HOW TO ENABLE THEM?

There is ne enable or disable to my knowledge. Did you make sure the bulb wasn't burnt out??? Remove the guage cluster and check that first. Otherwise it may be a wiring issue...
