AutoMeter Fuel Guage
I am trying to add a separate electric fuel guage to the ITA CRX/Si, and we can't seem to find a electric guage that will use the same ohm's as stock. Has anybody put a fuel level guage in the car with a stock gas tank. It seems like the reading is backwards than a "gm or ford" configuration.
Any suggestions
Thanks

with research i did in the past... i found it to be a big pain in the *** to try to use an aftermarket gauge with the stock sender.
you'd have to essentially have a programmable fuel gauge (which they are), but the cost far outweighed the benefit. I'd rather watch the odometer and calculate that way.
if you go autometer, prepare to use their sender...i don't know if there are too many people who have done it though.
by the way, this was in a CRX as well...'90 HF.

I was able to make it work with two simple resistors, if anyone's interested let me know I'll post the drawing

Please do. My OEM sender completely quit on me two events ago. There are few things more distracting than watching your fuel level drom from half to E while you're sitting on grid before a 40 min race

yeah jeff and I used the autometer fuel level gage and we have to read empty as full and full as empty! it sure messes with your mind when your racing!

Yes please... I finished 6th, instead of being in the top 3 at the last race because I ran out of gas a few laps from the end of the race!
Although we appreciate the sponsorship arrangement we have with Autometer and I'm sure they will give us answers we need this really was very frustrating for both Shawn and I at our first race in the new cars.

Sorry Guys, but I didn't get a chance to change the Race Shop website. If you look in the Part's News section there is a link for the file. Just so you know when I tested it today, the guage seems pretty accurate. A really really full tank will read way over the full mark, and a bone dry tank (pump can't draw anymore) the guage is just slightly less than empty.
I want to than Ron and Phil for their electrical savy on this one.
