Gotta do it this way or risk the chance of cracking your hood.

thinking of picking one up and and have it paint match my car</TD></TR></TABLE> basically hood pins are to keep the hood from flying up on you when you are driving because the hood is real light and not fitted from factory.
slamming the hood down makes the hood locked for sure, but puts a lot of stress on it.
putting it down and pushing it down with your hands is safer. if it doesnt close by using your hands, just sit on it.

CF hood are strong but fragile. the CF itself is very strong, but the frame that it use to lay on can be fragile.
I think it's koo lto roam around with no hood pins. I had a CF hood for about 2.5 year and it was kool. I only have hood pins on there because it use to rattle. The pins just kept it down nice and tight.

Everyone else is wrong.
its pretty easy, just stand in front of your car and hold the hood up with both hands, and then slam it down as hard as you can. if for some reason your hood makes a cracking noise, pop your hood and repeat the process.

this is true
the shear strength
and tensil strength
are both very strong shock strenght is not that great
the carbon will crack maby a layer or 2 but that is b/c of the resin being not flexible and too stiff not the carbon

hey man cf hood never close! the reason is the stock hight of the lactch for your oem hood is low. the carbon fiber latch hook is high.. pop the hood and look at the coupler, there is a way to adjust it easily shouldent take more then 3mins and give it a spray wit some wd40 or some slippry ****.

I live in the pittsburg area, my uncle is in a subaru club, they have meets once a month, that would be cool to get a honda/acura meet going....
i put it down like w/e... and push down on it hard so it locks in the latch.
i've let my hood fall from it being almost vertical and it locked on its own, no cracks... no falling apart.... did sound scary, but nothing happened.
