what damage could have happened?

A part called "spring B" (part number 12) that puts tension on the bracket that holds the balance shafts, was MISSING from my engine after the rebuild.
I took it apart and did the Auto to Manual tesioner swap, and noticed something was missing from the picture diagrams by 2 point 6. So I looked it up, and sure enough, it was missing.
So what could have happened if I would have dropped my engine in there and cranked it up, with out this part?

I kinda doubt much would have happened. It's a very weak spring so I doubt it does much. Might just keep things in place when you are adjusting the tension of the belt... I would have to look at it in person to figure out what it does exactly because it's been almost a year since I did my belt.
thats just the spring that puts tention on the balancer shafts,
most likely when you torqued that bolt that locks the autotentioner and the balancer shaft tentionerdown, the balancer shaft belt was a little lose, if anything it might have caused alittle engine vibration if it wasn't exactly in "sync" with the crank. i doubt any damage was done. the weight of the bearing alone puts some tension on the balancer belt, and the fact that you had it tourqed down made iso it couldn't move. probably had the same effects as a stretched belt, your fine

Well, I ordered it anyway, so hopefully it will be here this week, and I can put my engine back together and drop it in the car.
