Default moved: something I saw the other night: got questions

Accidently posted this in teh wrong topic. Here it is.

I was at NED the other night with sleepyEG and KPT4321 and saw something interesting. This guy had this huge beutiful front mount on his new RSX, so I went up to see what turbo setup he was running. Funny thing was he wasnt running any trubo. Interestingly, the air filter was attached directly to the intercooelr inlet pipe and the intake tube was directly piped into the intercoolers outlet. He claims he was making a good deal more power with this setup. We all thought it was kind of odd though. But, when he started it up, damn it was so loud. The intake noise was crazy. It even had lag like a normal turbo car when he revved it up. Sure proved to us that it was making a good deal more power with his intercooler. Just wanted your opinions. I am considering doing this to my b18c5 in my GSR as I really dont have the room for the turbo, just the front mount. Any thoughts?

Stupid enough, Im not sure if theres enough pressure where the air can be pull through that intercooler, maybe if it was a small IC? But other then that, Im sure it can choke.... Sounds interesting, but a no go...

Yeah, seems to me like it would choke the intake. Intercoolers are not highly efficient devices, especially if you're not forcing air through them.

You're dumb. And so is the guy with the "NA IC".

Read this. If you don't understand it read it again

How does an intercooler work? Hot air from the turbo flows through tubes inside the intercooler. The turbo air transfers heat to the tubes, warming the tubes and cooling the turbo air. Outside air (or water) passes over the tubes and between fins that are attached to the tubes. Heat is transferred from the hot tubes and fins to the cool outside air. This heats the outside air while cooling the tubes. This is how the turbo air is cooled down. Heat goes from the turbo air to the tubes to the outside air.

ok dr pooface.... who is dumb here??? what is your name? pooface? wtf?

anyway, back to the hardcore TECH discussion... no one has stated that there will be a reduction in intake tepmeratures!!! isn't taht the point? there will be a few psi of vacuum, but nothing is free right?

look, i figure that the guy could run stealth if he ran the turbo off the back of the exhaust, i mean it would create a new craze of turbos on the exhaust tips!!! if you ceramic coated the whole exhaust, it might work.

What are you, some kind of idiot? You should hit yourself over the head with that ricer's intercooler, and then hit him over the head with it.

The kids I hang out with would never say something that stupid.

I'm going to give you the benefit of doubt and assume you are not that stupid and a merely a troll trying to get some attention ....

this thread needs to be locked ... it does not include any " hardcore tech", just a couple trolls wanting attention.

Yes, many of us agree with you and don't like ricers either...

you must be really bored to sign up just to prove a point to yourself that many individuals who own hondas are ricers ... everyone knows that(did you really think that you were telling us something we don't already know?)... but some of us actually enjoy building import engines// or domestic engines for real power..

Have a beer or take a zantax and chill out...

Dumbest ******* response in the world. The best an intercooler could EVER do is cool air to ambient if it was 100% efficient... which means, jackass, the air could never be any cooler than the outside air. SO, factor in the RESTRICTION it creates, and you've basically just constructed a CAI with a cork in it....

How's that for TECH?
